The direct answer

A slow response can lead someone to press Submit again. Duplicate prevention needs both clear interface feedback and appropriate server handling.

Start with the evidence

Test repeated submission in an authorized nonproduction environment. Check whether one request is processed and whether the user receives a clear pending or completed state.

Make the change deliberately

Disable repeated actions while processing and use suitable backend deduplication. Do not hide the button indefinitely after a failure; provide an understandable recovery path.
