WHAT THE WORK ACTUALLY DOES
A connected business identity.
Customers should find the same business name, phone number and accurate details wherever they encounter you.
One approved business-information record
We confirm your public business name, legal name where needed, phone, email, address or service area, hours, services, categories and website address. You approve this record before it is used on the website and selected profiles.
Why it matters: inconsistent names or contact details can confuse customers and make later cleanup harder.
A website customers can use
We organize your approved information into clear pages, show what you offer and make it easy to call or send an inquiry. We check layouts on common screen sizes and test the agreed contact paths before launch.
You receive: the agreed live pages, a functioning inquiry path and a record of launch checks.
Search foundations, explained
Each page gets a title and description. We set its preferred web address (a canonical URL), provide a sitemap that lists your pages and add structured business information that search systems can read.
Why it matters: these help search systems interpret your website. They do not guarantee rankings, immediate indexing or leads.
Domain and email guidance
We explain the website address, hosting and professional email choices and configure the agreed website connection at launch. You approve the providers and pay their charges.
Optional domain-name research and guided registration is $150 one time. Email mailbox setup, migration and ongoing administration are quoted separately if needed.
Accounts owned by your business
Your domain, hosting, selected business profiles and agreed analytics accounts are established in, or transferred to, your control wherever the provider permits. Benchmark receives the permissions needed to do the work.
At handoff we document account owners, access arrangements, renewal responsibilities and remaining verification steps. Review website ownership →
A documented handoff
We explain how inquiries reach you, where to request website changes and how to keep your public information current. You receive the approved business-information record, profile register and website launch report.
Both packages include setup work on up to eight relevant, eligible business profiles for one location. We agree on the actual platforms before starting. This is a selected list, not a submission to every directory online.
How we select the profiles
We assess services such as Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and Yelp, plus appropriate industry or local directories. Selection depends on your business type, service area, platform eligibility and the value of that listing.
We check for existing records before creating new ones. Existing profiles should be claimed or updated where possible, rather than creating unnecessary duplicates.
What we do on each agreed profile
Create or request access to the appropriate record.
Enter the approved name, phone, website, hours, category and permitted address or service area.
Add an approved description, logo and supplied photos where supported.
Guide you through required owner verification.
Check the public information when available and record its status.
“Submitted” and “live” are different. Your profile register names each platform, its public link when available, what was submitted and whether it is live, pending verification or awaiting a platform decision. Platforms control eligibility, approval and timing. Routine status checks and owner-verification guidance for the selected profiles are included for 30 days after website launch. At handoff we identify who handles any remaining steps; appeals, recovery work and extended management require a separate quote.
We use a real, eligible business address and follow each platform’s display rules. A service-area business may need its home address hidden from public view; we confirm this with you before submission. We do not use fake locations or promise that every business qualifies for every platform.
Complex duplicate cleanup, suspended-profile recovery, ownership disputes, appeals and additional locations are separate work. If an existing issue changes the launch scope, we explain it and quote it before proceeding.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW THE TECHNICAL TERMS
Bring the business facts. We help organize them.
We walk through this checklist with you. Anything you do not have yet becomes a decision to resolve before launch.
Information and materials you provide
Your approved business name and the services you actually offer.
Your real address or service area, business phone, customer email and operating hours.
A short introduction, qualifications and license details where relevant.
Your logo and photographs you have permission to use, if available.
Your preferred inquiry destination and the person who will respond.
Existing domain, website or business-profile information, even if incomplete.
Decisions and approvals you make
Approve the pages, business-information record, platforms and final website.
Choose and pay for the approved domain, hosting and other providers.
Arrange account access using provider invitations where available.
Complete owner-only steps such as phone, video, document or address verification when a platform requires them.
Return one combined set of feedback for each revision round.
Confirm that claims, photographs and customer-facing policy information are accurate.
Complete Launch project entries use real work and approved materials supplied for the build. Prior experience can be shown only with permission and a clear description of who performed the work. If you have no projects to present yet, we agree on a truthful launch plan; future content entry is included only when your written scope names it. No logo or project photographs yet? Tell us early. We can quote branding or suitable licensed imagery, or plan a simple launch using accurate business information. We do not invent completed projects, customer reviews or qualifications.
FROM FIRST CONVERSATION TO HANDOFF
Know what happens next.
1. Plan your launch
Discuss the business, customer needs and opening plans. Confirm the package, pages, profiles, provider costs, payment schedule and estimated timing in a written scope.
2. Approve the foundation
Gather materials and approve the business-information record. Set up owner-controlled accounts and resolve any eligibility or access questions.
3. Build and review
Build the agreed website, organize your supplied content and use the included revision rounds. Prepare the selected profiles and guide owner verification.
4. Launch and hand over
Publish the approved website, test contact paths and review available profile results. Deliver the launch report and profile register with outstanding actions clearly identified.
We set estimated timing after reviewing your materials and access. Missing approvals, incomplete content or platform verification can affect timing. Website launch and directory approval may happen on different dates.
OPTIONAL ENHANCEMENTS
Add the features your customers will use.
Start with the agreed foundation. Additional features are scoped and priced before work begins.
Project showcase
Complete Business Launch includes three initial entries on one project showcase page. Add more entries or a larger project system with separately scoped detail pages and features. Explore Projects website packages →
Knowledge Center
Answer common questions and explain your process, materials and services with useful guides. Explore website levels →
Add detailed service pages, additional service areas or properly scoped location pages when the business needs them.
Branding, content and inspiration
Original logo work, photography, extensive writing, and materials or product inspiration sections are quoted separately.
Optional ongoing care
Website changes, listing monitoring and hands-on local presence management are available under separate agreements. Compare care options →
Our existing Enhanced Website tiers remain available. If you upgrade later, we assess the work that can be reused and define the upgrade scope in your quote.
COMMON FIRST-TIME OWNER QUESTIONS
Before you get started.
Does this legally register my business?
No. This package sets up your website and agreed online business profiles. LLC formation, tax registration, permits, professional licensing, insurance and legal advice are separate. You remain responsible for the legal requirements of operating your business.
Will this get me to the top of Google?
There is no ranking or lead guarantee. The package gives your business a clear website and consistent approved information on selected eligible profiles. Reviews, competition, location, ongoing content and other factors influence visibility over time.
What does “one time” mean if there are ongoing costs?
The package price pays Benchmark for the defined website and profile setup work. Providers may charge recurring domain, hosting, email or directory fees. Those charges and renewals are identified separately. Optional Benchmark care is a separate choice.
Can I start without a public storefront?
Possibly. We assess your actual operating model and the eligibility rules of each proposed platform. Some service-area businesses qualify for profiles with their address hidden; an online-only business may need a different platform mix.
What happens when my hours, phone number or services change?
You should update your approved business-information record, website and affected profiles. At handoff we explain your access and responsibilities. You can make permitted profile changes yourself or request a quote for help or ongoing management.
What is fixed before I pay?
Your written scope names the package, core pages, location, chosen profiles, supplied content, two revision rounds, provider charges, milestones, estimated timing, payment schedule, 30-day profile follow-up period and exclusions. Extra work requires an agreed scope and price. Review payment and service terms →
LET’S DEFINE YOUR FIRST STEP
Tell us what you are opening.
You do not need a finished website plan. Tell us what the business does, where it serves customers and what you already have. We will help you identify the right starting scope.
