OWNERSHIP WITHOUT SURPRISES

Your website should belong to your business.

Benchmark can build and preview the website in a managed development environment, then place the approved production website in customer-owned accounts. Your domain and digital property are not held hostage to an ongoing marketing contract.

THE SHORT VERSION

You own the business-specific website and control the production accounts.

Benchmark retains only its internal development systems and reusable technology. Ordinary domain and cloud costs are paid directly by the customer, and continuing Benchmark care is optional unless a different arrangement is selected.

CLEAR OWNERSHIP

What stays under your control.

Ownership is established before production launch so the business can continue operating the website even if it later chooses another provider.

YOU OWN

Your business assets and production environment.

  • Domain registration and registrar account
  • Customer-owned Azure production subscription and resources
  • Customer-owned GitHub repository or organization
  • Customer-specific website deliverables and approved content
  • Customer-supplied photographs, logos, project facts, and business information
  • Analytics, Search Console, public profiles, and third-party accounts

BENCHMARK RETAINS

Internal systems used to build reliable websites.

Benchmark retains its pre-existing and reusable software components, development frameworks, internal tools, processes, automation, methods, and protected Benchmark Core technology.

The customer receives permanent operating rights to any incorporated components needed to host, maintain, modify, and transfer the completed website.

DEVELOPMENT TO PRODUCTION

Preview quickly. Transfer control before launch.

Benchmark may create a private preview in Benchmark-managed infrastructure so a customer does not have to establish technical accounts before seeing the direction. After approval, the customer creates or confirms its Azure and GitHub accounts, adds Benchmark with limited access, and Benchmark deploys the approved production website.

If accounts are in separate Microsoft environments, the website is redeployed into the customer's Azure subscription rather than rebuilt. The website content and code remain the same; the production connection, deployment credential, SSL, domain, and account settings are re-established under customer control.

DOMAIN OWNERSHIP

The domain is registered to the customer from the beginning.

Benchmark can research names, guide registration, and connect the chosen domain, but the account, payment method, recovery information, renewal responsibility, and ownership stay with the customer.

01

Review available names

Benchmark can research appropriate choices and explain practical tradeoffs.

02

Customer registers

The business creates its own registrar account with its legal information, payment method, and recovery controls.

03

Benchmark connects

Authorized DNS changes connect the website while protecting known business-email records.

04

Customer retains control

The business renews the domain directly and can remove Benchmark's access after the work ends.

DOMAIN SERVICES

Separate authorization protects both parties.

Domain research and guided registration are $150 plus the registrar's direct charges. Website Launch & Infrastructure Setup is $495. Complex account recovery, disputed ownership, registrar transfer, legacy DNS repair, or email remediation is quoted before work begins.

AFTER LAUNCH

Modest platform costs. Optional Benchmark care.

A typical static business website is designed to avoid expensive ongoing infrastructure. Exact third-party costs depend on the selected plans, usage, and future features, so the customer pays those providers directly.

DIRECT THIRD-PARTY COSTS

Paid by the customer.

  • Domain registration and annual renewal
  • Azure production hosting or usage
  • GitHub plan or metered usage, if applicable
  • Email, analytics, call tracking, or other optional services

No unusual paid service is enabled without customer approval.

WEBSITE CARE

$99 per month

  • Hosting oversight and deployment support
  • Monitoring and source-control backup
  • Up to 30 minutes of minor routine updates

New pages, new project entries, integrations, redesigns, and substantial writing are separate work.

GROWTH CARE

$199 per month

  • Website Care protections
  • Up to 90 minutes of minor routine updates
  • Quarterly performance review

Care is optional unless the approved Order Form states otherwise.

PROJECT CONTENT

Eight projects are included. New project publishing is priced clearly.

Project pages require image review, optimization, writing, metadata, accessibility descriptions, internal links, structured data, publishing, and quality review. That work is treated as content production rather than a minor update.

INCLUDED AT LAUNCH

Up to eight initial project entries

The Enhanced Website + Projects package includes eight entries with up to 15 customer-supplied photographs per project. At least four should be ready before launch; any unused included entries must be supplied within 90 days after launch.

ADDITIONAL DURING BUILD

$200 per project

Additional project entries purchased and prepared while the original website is being built.

AFTER LAUNCH

$125 customer-ready or $250 managed

Customer-ready pricing applies when final copy, facts, and organized approved photographs are supplied. Managed entries include Benchmark preparation from raw photographs and job information. Four managed entries may be purchased for $800.

IF SERVICE ENDS

The website does not disappear.

If optional Benchmark care ends, the customer retains its domain, production accounts, approved content, and customer-specific website. Benchmark can remove its access and provide a reasonable handoff after approved outstanding charges are resolved.

IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

Ownership does not eliminate every future cost.

The customer remains responsible for domain renewal, third-party subscriptions, account security, monitoring, and any later changes it requests. Benchmark separates those normal operating responsibilities from ownership so customers can make an informed decision before work begins.

CLEAR BEFORE COMMITMENT

Know what you own, what launch requires, and what future work costs.

Every approved website proposal identifies the package, included content, launch setup, customer-owned accounts, third-party charges, optional care, and exclusions before work begins.
