The expected traffic, rolling equipment, furniture, grit, cleaning procedures, and replacement plan must be considered. A product suitable for a private office may not be appropriate for a busy retailer or healthcare corridor. The manufacturer's commercial-use classification, warranty, testing, and maintenance instructions provide a more complete basis for comparison than wear-layer thickness by itself.
