The primary difference lies in the manufacturing process. Through-body (or unglazed) porcelain is created by mixing pigments into the clay body before firing, ensuring the color runs through the entire piece. This makes it highly resistant to the visual impact of scratches or chips. Standard ceramic tiles are finished with a decorative glaze applied to the surface. While glazed tiles offer a wider variety of aesthetic designs, they are susceptible to showing wear or damage if the top glaze layer is compromised.
