A shower typically uses wall tile, a floor tile or mosaic with appropriate traction, trims, waterproofing, mortar, grout, and flexible sealant. Large tile can reduce grout joints on walls, while smaller mosaics conform more easily to sloped shower floors. The decorative tile is not the waterproofing. An approved waterproof shower assembly must be installed behind or beneath it.
