Large porcelain can reduce wall grout joints, while mosaics or smaller formats may provide better slope conformity and traction on shower floors. The tile is not the waterproofing. A complete waterproof membrane and drain system are required. Wet traction, grout width, mortar coverage, movement joints, and cleaning should be considered.

Key considerations

  • water resistance
  • slip resistance
  • cleanability
  • wall-and-floor options
