View several samples under the project lighting and compare color, variation, texture, pattern scale, finish, and surrounding materials.
One sample cannot display the complete range of a natural stone or highly varied porcelain collection. Room visualizers can support the decision but may not reproduce exact screen color or grout appearance. For slabs, inspect the actual material before fabrication whenever possible.
