True quartzite can contain pores and natural fissures that allow oils and liquids to enter. A sealer slows absorption and provides more cleanup time. It does not make the stone completely stain-proof and does not prevent chemical reactions in slabs containing calcite. The fabricator should recommend a compatible sealer for the actual stone and finish.

Key considerations

  • stain resistance
  • moisture resistance
  • appearance retention
  • penetrating protection
  • natural slab
  • multiple finishes
