Zippering occurs when a pulled loop continues unraveling along a row, creating a visible line of missing yarn.
Loop carpet may use continuous yarn across multiple tufts. When one loop is pulled, the yarn can continue releasing along the row. The damage should be stopped quickly by securing the loose yarn. Large zipper runs may require a patch or replacement section.
