The countertop edge around the bowl remains visible and must be fabricated and polished accurately. The sink requires strong clips, rails, adhesive, or another approved support method. Adhesive alone should not be assumed sufficient. Water and residue can collect at the joint between sink and counter if the sealant deteriorates. Undermount sinks are commonly used with stone, quartz, solid surface, porcelain, and other water-resistant materials.
