Regular vacuuming usually reduces the loose fibers over time. Shedding does not mean the carpet is unraveling when the yarn remains securely attached. Continuous heavy fiber loss, bare areas, pulled yarns, or backing exposure should be reported. Loop-pile carpet should not normally shed in the same way as cut pile.
