Abrasive cleaners should be used only when the material and finish manufacturer specifically approves them.
Scouring powder, rough pads, and abrasive creams can dull polished quartz, stone, laminate, porcelain, and stainless steel. Some matte solid-surface products permit controlled abrasive cleaning to renew the finish. Repeated scrubbing can create uneven sheen even when no deep scratches are visible. Begin with the least aggressive approved method.
