After resilient tile, plank, or sheet flooring is placed, the adhesive ridges must contact the flooring back. A manufacturer-specified roller applies controlled pressure more evenly than walking or hand pressing. The floor may be rolled in multiple directions and at specified intervals. Skipping rolling can leave areas with inadequate transfer, especially where the substrate is slightly uneven or the material has curl. The correct roller weight, timing, direction, and repeat-rolling requirements vary. Excessive rolling or rolling outside the approved time can also create problems, so manufacturer instructions should be followed.

- resilient flooring roller, commercial LVT, sheet vinyl
- bond strength, adhesive transfer, dimensional stability
- weighted rolling, multi-direction pressure, consistent contact
