Large stone or quartz patterns may contain areas that are much lighter, darker, or more dramatic than the sample. Natural stone adds unique mineral deposits, fissures, and color changes that may not appear in a small piece. Lighting also affects appearance. Showroom lighting, home lighting, cabinet color, and wall paint can change how the surface is perceived. Full-slab viewing is especially important for strongly veined or highly variable materials.

Key considerations

  • visual consistency
  • appearance planning
  • color evaluation
  • large-scale veining
  • unique slabs
