Installation and Preparation
Edge sealer helps secure yarn and backing at cut edges so the carpet is less likely to ravel or lose tufts along seams.
Cutting exposes the backing and yarn bundles along the edge. Loop, patterned, woven, and other carpet constructions may be particularly vulnerable to raveling. The approved sealer is applied without contaminating the carpet face. Edge sealing supports seam durability but does not compensate for poor cutting, weak seam tape, or inaccurate pattern alignment.
Installation and Preparation
Carpet seams should be secure and reasonably unobtrusive, but lighting, style, color, and pile direction can keep them visible.
