Cold carpet can become stiff and difficult to stretch or seam. Excessive heat can affect adhesives and working times. The subfloor and room air both need to be suitable, especially for glue-down carpet. Normal climate control should continue before, during, and after installation. A generic temperature should not replace the product-specific instructions.
