Installing LVP on staircases requires careful attention to safety and structural integrity. The primary safety concern is to prevent slipping and ensure the LVP adheres securely to the stairs. Use a high-quality, resilient flooring adhesive recommended by the LVP manufacturer specifically for stair applications. Ensure each plank is cut precisely to fit the tread and riser without gaps, as voids can compromise stability and create tripping hazards. Crucially, install LVP stair nosings. These are specialized profiles that cap the edge of each step, providing a finished appearance and, more importantly, a durable, non-slip surface to protect the LVP edge and enhance safety. The nosings must be securely fastened to the LVP and the stair substrate. Always consult and adhere strictly to the LVP manufacturer's installation instructions for stairways, as they may have specific requirements regarding underlayment, adhesives, and nosing types.
