Bleach, acne medication, bathroom cleaners, disinfectants, pool chemicals, and other oxidizing products can permanently remove carpet color.
The affected area may appear white, orange, yellow, or lighter than the surrounding carpet. Cleaning cannot restore color that has been chemically removed. Professional color repair may improve small spots when the fiber can accept dye. Larger areas may require a bonded insert or replacement section.
