Carpet reflects light differently when the pile direction changes. Two areas made from the same material can therefore appear lighter or darker. Material from different dye lots may also have slight color differences. Seams, stairs, and adjoining rooms can change the viewing direction and make normal variation more visible. All material for a connected area should be ordered together and lot information checked before installation.
