Quartz uses controlled pigments and patterns, but manufacturing conditions can produce slight changes in tone, background color, gloss, or veining. Slabs intended for one project should be ordered from the same production lot when possible. Large veined designs may also have nonrepeating areas and directional movement that require layout planning. The fabricator should inspect slabs before cutting and confirm whether adjoining pieces are visually compatible.

Key considerations

  • visual consistency
  • lot compatibility
  • appearance planning
  • controlled patterns
  • multiple slabs
  • directional veining
