Rigid-core flooring is commonly installed as a floating system with locking edges. It requires perimeter movement space and cannot be pinned beneath fixed cabinets unless specifically approved. Glue-down luxury vinyl bonds directly to a prepared substrate. It creates a lower-profile, firm surface but shows substrate imperfections more readily. The better option depends on room size, floor height, rolling loads, cabinets, repair strategy, concrete moisture, and installer experience.
Key considerations
- dimensional stability
- rolling-load performance
- repairability
- click-lock options
- glue-down options
- low-profile flooring
